Tech & Teens: Understanding Digital Influence on Behavior and Well-being
Adolescents are growing up in a world where digital life shapes their development in profound ways. This training examines how the use of technology impacts behavior, emotional regulation, and mental health—both positively and negatively. Participants will learn to recognize warning signs linked to problematic use, from addictive screen habits to cyberbullying, while also identifying opportunities where digital tools foster resilience, connection, and identity formation. Special attention will be given to unique vulnerabilities among students with disabilities and mental health concerns. Grounded in the latest research and clinical insights, this session equips mental health professionals with practical strategies to support teens, foster balanced media habits, and know when to intervene or refer for additional help.
